Why Ryder betrays Grove Street Families? Ryder, as one of the main character in early Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas gameplay, appears to be one of the loyal Grove Street Families member. Why does he betrays? There are many explaination for this.
1. Ryder may be blackmailed by the C.R.A.S.H
In the mission Catalyst, C.R.A.S.H officer Tenpenny and Pulaski get in to ryder’s house and intimidate him. This indicate that C.R.A.S.H know something Ryder did and could force him to work for Big Smoke‘s Empire.
2. Ryder planned to do it in the first place
Ryder appear to be the one who go to the meeting with Loco Syndicate. Which means he know business. He also have some ability to cook things. He alway says he is genius. It is possible that the intend to do it, just waiting for the right time.
3. Ryder afraid of his secret get heard by CJ and Sweet.
According to Cesar Vialpando in the mission Yay Ka-Boom-Boom, Ryder tries to get to CJ’s sister, Kendl, which is also Grove Street Families Leader Sweet Johnson‘s sister. There is no mention that when is this happen, but likely to be close to the time of mission Green Sabre, leading him to betray CJ and Grove Street Families.
